THE JAMES PAPPOUTSAKIS FLUTE COMPETITION
THE 21ST ANNUAL COMPETITION 2001Open to all flutists enrolled and studying flute in any of the following schools during the Fall semester 2000: Berklee College of Music, Boston Conservatory of Music, Boston University, Longy School of Music and New England Conservatory of Music.
The First Prize Winner will receive a cash award of $1,500 and will perform in concert at the Eighth Annual Flute Fair of the Greater Boston Flute Association in March 2001. The Second Prize Winner will receive a cash award of $500. Application Deadline: October 7, 2000. Registration Form available online. Online registration complete when we receive your check. Preliminary Auditions will be held in camera NOVEMBER 5, 2000 at the Boston Conservatory of Music, 8 The Fenway, Seully Hall, Boston. Repertoire for the Preliminary Auditions (Contestants must use editions indicated): (A) Malcolm Arnold Fantasie Op.89 for solo flute (Faber) Final Auditions will be open to the public FEBRUARY 4, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. Boston Conservatory of Music, Seully Hall, 8 The Fenway, Boston. Repertoire for the Final Auditions (Contestants must use editions indicated): (A) Vivaldi Concerto #1 in F Major Op. 10. (Schott)
